About

My name is Anthony Rogers, can you tell where I got the nick name from ;), I was born in Bristol, England, and I live in Bristol with my parents and younger sister.
I am 24 years old and I work full time at ASDA in Patchway.

Education

After finishing school in July 2001 I went to sixth form for two years.
After sixth form I then went to City of Bristol College for two years studying BTEC National Diploma for IT Practitioners (ICT Systems Support)
I passed the course with the triple grade of Merit Merit Merit (MMM)

During my second year in college, I went on a short course on the Linux Operating System, and ever since I have been using Mandrake Linux 10.1 on my computer as my main operating system.

Interests

As I have grown up, my interests have changed.

One of my earliest interests when I was younger was painting. Or more specifically water colours, but the water colour set I had, was limited to six colours – red, green, yellow, blue, white and black.

At one time I was really into reading, and could normally be found reading a book in the corner during my spare time.
The books that I read were mainly murder mysteries, and detective books. I have quite a few books written by Ruth Rendell. I still read the occasional book nowadays.

One of my most recent interests is photography. When I started out I had a simple 35mm film camera, with two different types of lens. It is this camera that I have taken the most photos with.
Then as a birthday present I was given a better camera with a zoom lens of 28-70 mm. When I got this camera I stopped taking so many photos.
Now that I have a digital camera, I hope to take a lot more photos, and be able to experiment more, as I will not have to worry about how many frames I have left on the film!

My latest, and current interest is web design. I was hooked when, in 1999 when I was 14, the school that I went to stopped normal lessons for one day, and put on activities for the students. I went to the web page building lesson where we were taught the basics of building web pages.
At Christmas that year I was given the HTML in easy steps book, and then the following year I was given the Javascript in easy steps book.
During my second year at sixth form I started typing all of my HTML code in lower case, and not long after that all of my pages have been standards compliant. I was also introduced to the world of PHP and I have not looked back since!

Nowadays, you can find me sitting at my computer either browsing the Internet, updating my website, or writing yet another PHP script.
