Some breaking news!
The Grand Pier in Weston-Super-Mare has been destroyed by fire!
It started about 7am this morning and looks to have started at the base of the west tower.
It seems to only be the pavilion part that has been destroyed

Thanks for pointing that out, I’ve corrected my spelling now!
The sad thing is that the pier has only recently been brought by new owners and they have recently refurbished the pier.
They had also just opened a brand new state of the art indoor go-kart track.
I was at the pier on a work outing at the start of June.
It’s such a shame to see it go up like that!
